Lead Pastor for Mission West

Charlotte was born and spent her first 21 years of life in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, learning to love the Bible and the church from her family and in the General Baptist church.

After graduating from Southeast Missouri State University with a B.S. and Oklahoma State University with a M.S., she taught high school Home Economics in rural Missouri for one year, then served as Assistant Professor of Family Relations and Child Development at the College of the Ozarks, near Branson, Missouri, from 1977-1982.

While teaching, she discovered the Disciples and became an active member in Branson Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), who sent her off to seminary to prepare for full time ministry. She graduated from Brite Divinity School, Texas Christian University in June, 1986 and was ordained by Branson Christian Church and the Mid-America region.

Charlotte served Sombra Del Monte Christian Church, Albuquerque, New Mexico as Associate Pastor for five years immediately following seminary and has served churches in Austin, Texas; Des Moines, Iowa; and Adrian, Michigan. In 2005 she also earned a Certificate of Advanced Pastoral Studies from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Austin, TX.

In 2006 she accepted the call to become the Tres Rios Area Minister in the Southwest Region after serving three years as Associate Regional Minister in the Northwest Region of the Christian Church in the states of Washington, northern Idaho and Alaska. In 2011 she moved to half time ministry for both the Tres Rios Area and the Central Area of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Southwest. She is helping each Area through a time of transition and transformation.

Even though raised in Missouri and having served in several corners of the U. S., Charlotte is very much at home in West Texas and New Mexico. Her home office is in Albuquerque, NM and she drives about 30,000 miles a year from Santa Fe, NM to Alpine, TX; from Amarillo to Abilene to Midland, TX; and many points in between, supporting the churches of the Tres Rios Area and Central Area and their pastors. Mission, congregational transformation, and leader development are her specialties. Pastoring the pastors is her passion.
